Many thanks for the amazing hospitality. We have had a wonderful few days exploring the area - there are so many mushrooms up on Fuffock Hill and around the woods near Glengap. Thanks for the tip about horseradish - we will plant some when we get back. Hope to be back again. C & E Aug-2019

Whilst being set in a tranquil secluded location, midst rolling farmland, the village of Twynholm and the artist’s harbour town of Kirkcudbright are only a few minutes drive away. Established as a Royal Burgh in 1455, it is known as The Artist's Town and has attracted painters for generations due to the scenic landscape and the exceptional quality of light. This makes it an ideal central base from which to explore all the delights of Dumfries & Galloway, which includes the Galloway Forest Park. At three hundred square miles is a mixture of lochs, moorland, hills and a habitat for a variety of plants and animals. The forest provides an opportunity for everyone whatever age. Mile after mile of forest walks, horse riding, fishing, world class mountain biking at one of the 7Stanes venues and an opportunity to view one of the wonders of the world; the night sky.
The area offers appeal for all the senses - the feel and sound of waves on our beautiful coastline; first class restaurants and local food producers; stunning landscapes and the sight and sounds of wildlife and birds as you escape the normal hustle and bustle of life.
